Traditional Montages Bentley pasted individual snow crystal photomicrographs to a black board in various designs and then photographed the entire piece creating a montage. Blizzard of 1888 is a newly conceived piece designed to reflect the feel of his more common snowflake montages.
Modern Montages The historic images of “Snowflake” Bentley and modern digital technology come together in our Expression Series. From the easy, downward motion of “Gravity”, to the whimsical movements of “Exuberance”, these modern montages depict Bentley’s snowflakes in free flight. “Metamorphose”, imagines the glorious transformation of a snow crystal carried out by the impulses of wind and weather. Prints are reproduced using a new metallic photograph paper that gives a silvery cast to the snowflakes. Each print is matted and framed to meet archival standards and comes with a Bentley Info/Certificate of Authenticity.
